Working this week with producer Steve Fisk and have basically completed the production process on the new album to be called Fortune's Wheel on Fin Records. While there may be a few more "tweaks," I am looking forward to moving on to the process of artwork and liner notes.
Video artist Victor Ingrassia posted a striking video using excerpts of Chaconne for 4 guitars and strings from my Concerto Alla Barocco: Chaconne Video Dance
Just about finished with the new record with Concert Imaginaire. It will be called Fortune's Wheel. The release will be a full length LP and a CD along with a collectable vinyl single.
Also, posted part of my presentation for the Oscillating Human event. Als Zarathustra is available to audition here: ALS ZARATHUSTRA Looking forward to June 11th and a presentation of some electronic works for the next 50 celebration in Seattle's Intiman Theatre. Probably going with a John Cage Tribute theme.
After the initial shock of Aeneas leaving Carthage, Dido unleashes a curse on him and his line. She begins with: Sol, qui terrarum flammis opera omnia lustras [Sun, you who brings light to all the works of the earth with your flames.] Now working out a setting for this speech and 2 others from the Aeneid.: Women's speeches lead to an anti-war dimension of this epic.
Had another session with Steve Fisk who worked his magic on my music for the Fin Records release. Listening to the mixes, I "wax" optimistic as I see the record having a nice mix of chamber music, pop, improvisation, and comedy. This is exactly the kind of eclectic mix which I appreciated so much about the early Mothers of Invention records.
Also--incredibly, the news that "Mike and Ike" are splitting up will certainly propel the album into history! Read about the split HERE. |
